This required assignment fulfills the first Course Outcome:
  • Produce approved DNP Project documents

Assignment 1: Institutional Review Board (IRB) Applications essay assignment

An IRB application is completed by all students who are undertaking doctoral level capstone projects at Walden University.

Post drafts and revisions of your IRB application for feedback to the Q & A Discussion Forum. Once approved, submit your Walden IRB approval letter (received from the Walden IRB) using the Module 4 Assignment 1 submission link.

For more information on the IRB process, please see Walden’s Research Ethics and Compliance website:http://researchcenter.waldenu.edu/Application-and-General-Materials.htm

Note: When submitting your Walden IRB approval letter, the QUARTERyear section of the filename should reflect the first two letters of the quarter. For example, Chris Smith’sQUARTERyear section for a Project Premise submitted during the summer quarter of 2012 would be SU2012.

This module presents the opportunity to submit your DNP Project Paper document and engage in discussion with your peers and Project Chair in the Q & A Discussion Forum.

The final DNP Project, to be completed in NURS 8500: DNP Project 1: Planning and Implementation andNURS 8510: DNP Project 2: Project Implementation, Evaluation, and Dissemination, is a final report and defense of the overall DNP Project. This document is referred to as the DNP Project Paper, which should include Sections 1–3 (modified as necessary and updated to past tense), a scholarly product (Section 4) suitable for sharing with a wider audience, and an additional section including discussion and implication of the findings and reflection upon the meaning of findings to the students’ professional practice as a nurse-scholar practitioner.

Review the DNP Project Overview document for complete instructions and post any questions or concerns you have for your Project Chair to the Q & A Discussion Forum.

Note: When submitting your Project Implementation, the QUARTERyear section of the filename should reflect the first two letters of the quarter. For example, Chris Smith’sQUARTERyear section for a Project Premise submitted during the summer quarter of 2012 would be SU2012.

Discussion: Q & A Discussion Forum essay assignment

Project Chairs and DNP students alike can gather here!

This Q & A Discussion Forum is a place for any questions that arise during the course about the various components of the DNP Project, directions, procedures, due dates, or other issues unrelated to personal matters, rather than e-mailing them to your Project Chair. Used in this way, students are able to collaboratively assist one another in their projects in a learning community that includes the Project Chair, such that all students benefit from responses and discussion of the Project Chair as well as their peers. The Class Café is intended to be an area where you can meet and discuss other topics with your peers. Please address all technical questions directly to the Student Support Team.
